POP-UP GIFT CARD HOLDER BY KAREN BURNISTON
Hello everyone! For today's project I created a bird themed gift card holder. Tara came over and we had a great time creating with our Friend Karen Burniston's Pop-Up Gift Card Holder Die. We are both very lucky to own this die, and we had a blast experimenting with different papers until we figured out what we wanted to make. We loved working on this project together. We laughed, and talked about all the fun times we had together with Karen when she lived here in Colorado with us.
I tore up a pretty piece of "My Mind's Eye" paper, distressed the edges, inked, used a Stampin' Up bird punch, used a jump ring to attach the mini bird to the pop-up piece using my crop- a-dile, attached some pretty pearls, making memories vintage pins, some crystal pieces & crystal brads, added silver stickles, added jute, and some left over feathers and it all came together so nicely. I have a collection of gift cards that Tara, Karen and I have collected over the years, and I found this cute bird gift card to go inside my card. (I know, it is one of those wierd things we friends do...Collecting empty gift cards! I can't tell you how many times I have gone thru that collection of gift cards to get ideas and inspiration) It went together so easily.
Thank you Karen for making these Pop-Up Dies! They make such a beautiful and personalized gift and anyone who receives them are sure to be so appreciative of a hand made card!

Bonnie! It takes so long to look at your projects because I have to drink in all the details! I love the edges that have been distressed and gilded. The vintage feel of this project is fabulous. Love the feathers and the baubles. A classic Bonnie treasure of a project! (PS, I'm jealous of your creativity-fest with T-bird!)

This is one of the most beautiful things I have seen. I love the monochromatic palette, the bling and the birds. "The bling and the birds"- a love story...but that's another post.
