It feels so good to create my project life album. I have finished week 11 & 12 and just need to print a few photos of week 13. But the layout for week 13 is done. I will try to post that one by the end of the week. I am trying little by little to write in my own hand writing. It is not easy for me. I need to practice-practice-practice!
Week 11 was really fun. I took Nicholas' graduation announcement and cut it all apart. I was going to just insert it into the page protector, but you could not see the inside. So I decided to just cut it apart and this is what I came up with. Nicholas was so great about sharing his "Sr. Photo session" with his little bro. I had not taken any formal photos of them since Nicholas was 5 & Tyler was 2! Yikes! How the time has FLOWN by! I am so blessed to have such wonderful boys.
I Love everything that Simple Stories makes. From the cool papers, overlays, stickers, and mostly the journal cards. They make everything so easy for you. You just buy the kit, cut out the journal cards, & just have fun playing! On week 12 I used 12x12 paper, cut into journal cards & matched it with some of they're other journal cards & added photos. I cut out the butterfly, and used the small butterfly stickers from the "documented" line. I put the butterfly sticker down on some scrap pieces I saved, cut it out, & distressed around the outside. This allows it to pop off the page. I like this better than just sticking a sticker flat on a page. I also cut around the wings to give it that fringed look. Since I had some left over doilies I played around with those and some new flowers that I made. I just cut around the outsides of the doily 12x12 paper to cut out the shapes, and layered them with the flowers I made by just cutting them out around each flower from a 12x12 piece of paper from the "generations" line. I wanted to make my pages prettier, since I have documented so much basketball, and boy stuff. I was ready for some pretty girl pages, and week 12 was the perfect week because both Tara & Jamie both had birthdays one day apart. It is also spring so I thought it would be fun to also document working in my yard. Although yestertday we had a SNOW day here in Colorado! Crazy Colorado weather. I will show you what the wind here did to my trampoline in week 14!
